Understand your
position-size assumptions.
Explore a transparent Forex estimate. Change the inputs to see how planned risk and stop distance affect the calculated position size.
Make the arithmetic
part of your process.
This estimator uses the pip value you provide. The balance and pip value must both be in USD. The unit conversion assumes one standard lot equals 100,000 base-currency units.
Different products and broker contracts can use different definitions. Confirm the pip value and contract specification independently.
These inputs illustrate the calculation; they are not a recommended risk level. Fees, spread, slippage and gaps are excluded. Actual losses may exceed the planned risk amount.
Estimate based on the inputs shown.
Transparent inputs.
Practical limitations.
Planned risk = balance × risk percentage ÷ 100
Estimated lots = planned risk ÷ (stop distance × pip value per lot)
A calculated lot size may not match your broker’s permitted size increments. A stop order does not guarantee the execution price. This calculator does not account for margin, leverage limits, currency conversion, charges or liquidation rules. It does not store your inputs or place any order.
