Define your research question
Start with a question you can investigate: an instrument, timeframe or market condition. Avoid treating every movement as a reason to trade.
Use a repeatable sequence
Scan the market, narrow your focus, examine the chart and review your assumptions. Repeating a sequence can help you compare observations more consistently.
Document uncertainty
Write down what you observed, the source and time, your interpretation, and what could make that interpretation wrong. Keeping these separate helps you see where judgement enters the process.
Review the process
Look back at your notes and decisions. An outcome alone does not tell you whether your reasoning was sound. Consider whether you followed your plan and what information was missing.
Your next step
Use the four-step walkthrough as a prompt for your own checklist. Education is ongoing; a thoughtful process includes pausing when the information or risk is unclear.
